The Hispanic Women of Distinction Award was created twenty years ago by the late Dr. Erwin M. Vasquez and his wife Elaine Miceli Vasquez, co-founder and producer, to empower Latino women and recognize their important contributions to the community in South Florida.
“The CareMax family is proud of Carolina for receiving the Hispanic Women of Distinction award. Carolina has made significant contributions to the health and wellbeing of the community in South Florida by creating strategic partnerships that allowed us to reach and impact thousands of people during the pandemic,’ said Bill Lamoreaux, Executive Vice President, CareMax, Inc.
Carolina is a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and has been instrumental in cultivating a culture of philanthropy within the organization, receiving overwhelming support from employees and the company who provided economic resources for community relief initiatives during the pandemic. She was recipient of the Buena Vida Media Hispanic Heritage Business Champion Award 2020 and the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Diversity & Inclusion – Excellence in Advocacy Award 2020. Carolina also serves on the Board of Directors for Deliver the Dream, and the Latin American Business Association.
The South Florida community will gather at the luncheon presented by Latina Style Magazine, the nation’s most influential publication reaching Hispanic women, in partnership with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The sold-out event includes a silent auction, business expo, and a live concert by Grammy-winning Nestor Torres, accompanied by the twenty-piece Bobby Rodriguez Orchestra. The silent auction will benefit HANDY, a non-profit founded in 1985 who has met the needs of over 50,000 children in foster care.
